Cuesta: The Premier Web Developer for the Education Industry
Cuesta is different from most Web development companies. We come to the Web and Internet "platforms" with a background steeped in education, computer science and user-interface design. As educational software developers, we are known throughout the industry as experts in Websites for education publishers and vendors. We are proud of our reputation as the education industry's premier Web developer. We regularly attend education conferences and networking events such as EdNet and AEP/AAP. We are early adopters of the LRMI (Learning Resource Metadata Initiative) and are prepared to implement technologies for our clients that will allow them to take advantage of tagging systems when the time is right. Because of our advanced database technologies, our clients will be able to implement these features with relative ease, unlike many publishers who will have to start from scratch. Cuesta can also provide freelance services such as proofreading, catalog copy, content editing and social media marketing. We offer development of lessons/activities for textbook and supplemental book publishers. Experienced with both print and Web-based materials, our staff is composed of seasoned professionals who are well connected in the education publishing and ed-tech communities. Some of us even venture into the classroom as substitute teachers from time to timein order to refresh our memories about what a teacher's day is really like, and to take a closer look at school purchasing requirements. Client History: Newbridge Publishing & Sundance Publishing- www.Newbridge Online, www.SundancePub.com
Newbridge and Sundance are sister companies with a shared history. In June of 2000, Sundance Publishing heard our presentation at the Association of Education Publishers conference. They were intrigued by the e-commerce system we demonstrated and sent us the RFP that had been sent to several developers. When we were awarded the contract, they told us that they loved the idea of working with developers who had extensive backgrounds in education and print catalogs, so we got to work and launched the site before the end of the year. They were so happy with the results, that they returned to us in late 2001 and began talking to us about a new site for Newbridge Publishing. Cuesta studied the requirements and came up with a plan to help them save money but using a similar template but different design and the same database. The Newbridge site launched in 2002. The sites have a lot of content, and would normally require two Webmasters to keep them going. But because the back-end of each system is identical, they have a single Webmistress assigned to the two sites. More... Testimonial Cuesta helped us understand what was important, what made the most sense in terms of user-friendliness, and how to accomplish what we wanted while keeping an eye on our budget constraints. Cuesta has become a valued partner in our Web design, development and marketing efforts." |
